Fort Widley offers a unique opportunity to explore a Cold War Bunker hidden within this hillside Fort overlooking Portsmouth. During National Cold War Heritage Week, visitors can join a guided 1-hour tour led by Peter Ashley Activity Centres staff and volunteers, experiencing first-hand how the underground Control Centre would have operated in the 1950s. The tour provides a rare insight into Cold War civil defence operations in an atmospheric, authentic setting. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is free and includes a feedback form to help improve accessibility and interpretation for future visitors. Please note, there is no access to the rest of the Fort during the tour.
