Hidden deep in the Cheshire countryside, Hack Green bunker stayed secret for more than 50 years. Inside, visitors can explore a labyrinth of rooms and authentic equipment once used to run the region in the event of disaster. The museum houses the largest public display of decommissioned nuclear weapons in Western Europe, alongside original top-secret BMEWS equipment that once scanned NATO skies for enemy missile launches. Visitors can also watch the previously banned film The War Game in the on-site cinema. During National Cold War Heritage Week, the museum will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am–4pm, with additional guided tours available both during the day and out of hours.
Visitors are asked to contact bunker directly for guided tours & more information.
